One of the mistakes I have made is to pursue someone else’s life, to try to replicate someone else’s journey or to even judge my own life relative to someone else’s accomplishments.
This is so hard not to do with all the social media platforms that highlight everyone else’s vacations, celebrity photos and impressive accomplishments.
The funny thing about this is I usually see all the positives in other people’s lives and ignore the negatives. I may want their full head of hair, ripped muscles, international vacations and their freedom to say yes to every party but ignore their alcohol addiction, marital affair or heart attack.
I have come to learn that we all live our own special path. And we are each uniquely qualified for our own destiny. No matter how hard I may try, I can’t be someone else. I can’t live someone else’s life. Ever.
So I might as well maximize my own life and feed my own passions. I try to treasure my uniqueness and do what makes me happy, regardless of what everyone else is doing.
I hope you can do the same. Brett
Don’t compare your behind the scenes to someone else’s highlight reel.
How can you celebrate and grow your own uniqueness?
Focus on becoming a better you.
Learn from others without striving to be them.
Instead, become better at being you.
If you want to change your life,
you have to change your mind
