The moment you accept responsibility for everything in your life is
the moment you tap into your power to change anything in your life.
What obstacle have you told yourself is out of your control and limits what your life could be?
How can you accept responsibility and change?
Change a choice you make every day to match the life you want to live.
Once upon a time, there was an overweight, poor, sexually abused African American girl who wanted to be on TV. Despite insurmountable obstacles and many odds against her, she persevered, struggled and dreamed. Her name is Oprah Winfrey.
In an entertainment profession dominated by conservative white men, people told her she was running against a wall without a chance. Yet, she became a unique success with not only a television show, but also magazines, a production company, her own cable channel and countless charities.
When she was already on the top, instead of going with the flow, Oprah would not stop growing and changing. In an industry propelled by tragedies, scandals, deviants and darkness, she resisted the wave of convention and chartered her own course. She chose to take her TV show away from the shocking “Jerry Springer” topics and sail her own course toward education, inspiration and empowerment.
At the age of 50, a time where many begin to imagine the sunset of their lives, Oprah opposed the tide and experienced a rebirth of her body, spirit and purpose. She made 50 young in a society that relishes and idolizes youth. She continues to tear down barriers and explode new ideas and possibilities, realizing the motto that change is good.
I love Oprah because she epitomizes the spirit of hope and growth. She has proven that one person can affect the world indelibly with a wave of positive energy she shines in so many ways.
I hope do the same.
